Christmas Vacation - Part 3

As you can tell from all the videos and photos over my past couple of blogs, I had a wonderful time on vacation. My pack is talking about going back in the late Spring. I’m thinking that “late Spring” doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen next week so as far as I am concerned, it’s too far away.

Coming home, we stopped to eat at a place called “Friday’s.” It was really late and Friday’s was open and still serving food, which made my pack happy, but I have to admit that it was a challenge for me. Here’s the thing about Friday’s, people drop food on the floor all the time there! Seriously, there were abandoned fries everywhere!! I suspect that the ‘dropped-fry to beers-served’ ratio was fairly high. I could be wrong though, math is not my best thing.

I almost made it to my bed after along day of playing with my new toys…

Being a service dog means I’m supposed to lie down quietly, right next to my pack leader’s legs, and not move. But did I mention that there were fries everywhere?!? Without my even really noticing, all of the sudden I would find myself closer to the fries! My pack leader would pull me back into place again but still the siren song of those fries was calling out to me and just a teensy-tiney bit of a belly crawl put me closer…until I got pulled back again. I’ll admit, this happened a few times. It’s a little embarrassing now that I look back on it. I guess that’s what it means to still be in training, right?

So, after a long, long, LONG drive, we made it back home. I am pretty happy to be back. The beach is amazing but there is no dog door so I had to be escorted every single time I went outside. Now that I am reunited with my door and back yard, I have to say that I’ve been enjoying having some me-time. (Not to mention pooping in private!)

It’s good to be back at work too. Everyone at Rees Harps was happy to see me and I was suuuuuper happy to see them. (I may have jumped up on a couple of them but I’m probably not supposed to talk about that…or jump up. I just couldn’t contain my excitement!!) Sigh! Being a good girl is hard when there are so many exciting things!!

There is a lot going on at Rees in January. It’s basically our busiest month of the year. Next week I’ll tell you why.

Until then…I sleep - this has been an exhausting few weeks.

Woof.
